I hesitated all morning about posting Oscar's school picture because, well, because just looking at it rips my heart out. These pictures were taken the week before my operation. I had been feeling bad and Oscar was sad. My heart was so heavy knowing he was struggling. Looking back, I think it was truly the hardest part of this journey so far...for all of us. But mostly my sweet boy.
Everyone can take a bad picture but this photograph tells the story. He was just sad.
But now I am feeling better and so is he. Every day gets better...! The evidence is in the rest of these pictures below. :)
What a difference a month makes!!! I love this child beyond words.
We were such white trash. LOL We went down to the sand to look for shells and guess who ended up in the ocean in their clothes...?!? Angelica in her undies and Oscar in his shorts. So much fun! They are both such a JOY and they are my heart...both of these glorious, precious gifts from God!
Our zoo has a rope "spider web". I wish you could have seen Angelica's face...trying not to laugh...as she laid there like a bug waiting for Spidey Oscar to come eat her
And finally, do you see a theme here??? I came home from radiation a day last week to find this. My 13-year-old babysitter and Oscar BOTH decided to play in the leftover mud from our torrential rains. I was so proud he kept his clothes on!!! lol It was shocking to come home to but they were having a blast! The laughter was contagious. I swear, none of you could have gotten mad either. They were laughing hysterically...! Music to my ears!

Cute as buttons!!! But you know how the dirt photos disturb me. I'm trying to imagine the laughter in my head, and, yes, I do feel somewhat calmed. They are so adorable and you are so blessed. Love you! --Janice.
Love those beautiful pictures, and I know just how you feel, yes, they are all so very precious! I am so glad you have them in your life! I can't imagine life without children....XOXO Beth
Hi Mimi,
I's just now seeing your posting from Wednesday and I can hardly stop the tears. I know exactly what you mean when you say "the picture tells it all" regarding Oscar. Seeing his sadness is the same as seeing you suffer - heartbreaking. But you were right when you quoted Philippians 4:16 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," so I will continue to pray for the strength of the Lord for you, Oscar, Angelica and all of us who love you so dearly. The Lord is using you in such a powerful way, Mimi - you are demonstrating such grace during this battle, and I take comfort in knowing that God will be faithful to you and will be with you for the duration. He has you and your children in the palm of His hand.
I love and miss you more than words can express.

The absolute best photos ever!!! I love and miss you all!!! Brenda
Great school picks... Oscar is so handsome! Hope all is well. We are heading to the pool tomorrow.. Monday, that is if there isn't a swim meet. Love for you all to meet us there. We will go in the am. SO GLAD YOU ARE FEELING MUCH BETTER!!!! Think of you so often. Hope to catch up with you at the KC. Christy
Whew, I read your blog and laugh and cry, usually in the same posting. I know how you feel. The worst part about being sick is that your children suffer also. My heart used to break to see Matthew and Thomas so sad when I felt so bad. It is not easy to smile and act as if everyrhing is okay when you are puking and bald. Believe me that my boys are so strong and compassionate because of what they had to go through with me. Maybe Angelica and Oscar will become Oncologists...or find a cure for this devastating disease. They are truly beautiful. Love You and thinking of you

Maureen...you have beautiful, happy children. What a wonderful family you are. I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow.
Much Love, Janet
looks like you guys had a ball! I can just hear the squealing and laughter as both the kids jump into the ocean with their clothes on and play in the mud outside the house. this is what life is about!! I am glad to hear things are getting better for y'all.
